The Marion Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season, dropping them to 4-1 on the year after a 28-6 loss at Cahokia. That opened the way for the surging Murphysboro Red Devils to reclaim the #1 ranking after a dominant Thursday night win over Herrin 63-6.
The Chester Yellow Jackets continue to impress, finding their way into the Top 5 for the first time in the history of the Little Egypt Football Poll. The Yellow Jackets picked up a 20-0 road win over Wesclin last Friday to improve to 5-0.
Carterville fell out of the top 10 with a 26-20 loss at St. Joseph-Ogden while Centralia found their way into the Top 10 with a 41-13 win over Carbondale last week.
