VERGENNES, Ill. (WJPF) – One person was killed, another was injured in a multi-vehicle wreck in Jackson County.
It happened just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday on Route 127, near Vergennes.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a southbound vehicle was attempting to pass two other vehicles when they collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the northbound vehicle was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
The names of those involved have not yet been released by authorities.
