From 1990 to 2004, Metcalf coached the Sesser-Valier boys to a 307-109 record. He then took over the Vienna Boys from 2004 to 2008, accumulating a record of 89-30. In 2011, Metcalf took over the Sesser-Valier Girls program and put together a 195-33 record until he stepped down in 2019. Metcalf has been head coach of the Vienna Girls since 2020 and put together a record of 89-36 so far with the Lady Eagles.
