COLP, Ill. (WJPF) – A man with an outstanding drug warrant held a woman against her will at knifepoint at a home in Colp.
Police were called to the 100 block of Davis Street at about 6:30 a.m. Sundayg. When officers arrived, the victim had escaped from the home and was waiting for police outside.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says her attacker, Doral Berry, slashed the tires of victims’ car in an attempt to prevent her from leaving.
Berry refused to come out of the home for nearly the next two hours. At about 8:15 am he surrendered without further fight.
Doral Berry was charged with aggravated unlawful restraint, criminal damage to property, and aggravated assault. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
