Herrin star Kyrese Lukens sets new career scoring mark for Tigers

Herrin Tigers star Kyrese Lukens passed Gene Turni on the Herrin Tigers All-Time Scoring List in Saturday’s 67-59 loss to Mascoutah, becoming Herrin’s new all-time leading scorer.

Lukens entered the game needing 11 points entering Saturday to pass Turni’s record of 1,707 career points.  He finished the game with 12 points, bringing his career total to 1,709.

Lukens and the Tigers have two regular season games remaining with a big conference game on Thursday against Harrisburg before wrapping up the regular season at home against Nashville on Friday night.  They will then play Mattoon on Wednesday, February 26 at the 3A Effingham Regional.
