Domestic violence suspect rams armored police vehicle

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – A man is facing a number of felony charges after a domestic incident and police chase in Mt. Vernon.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says that around 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, Johnathan Ames-Bourn, 24, of Highland, was the aggressor in a domestic disturbance involving a gun. The victim was not hurt. Ames-Bourn then led police on a chase that ended with him ramming his car into an armored police vehicle. The crash disabled Ames-Bourne’s car and he was arrested without further fight.

Johnathan Ames-Bourn is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of armed robbery, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated unlawful use of weapons, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
