SIU sophomore linebacker Ben Bogle has hit the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Bogle was thrust in to the spotlight early in the 2024 season with the SIU linebacker room depleted due to injuries. Bogle made the most of the opportunity and became one of the hottest rising stars of the season.
Bogle collected 16.5 tackles for loss, which led all linebackers in the Missouri Valley Football Conference and ranked among the nation’s best.
In Week 2, Bogle was the National Player of the Week for his performance at Austin Peay where he recorded 3.5 sacks and a school-record 6.5 tackles for loss.
Bogle recorded 87 tackles and 5.5 sacks, as well as two interceptions, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, and a fumble recovery in the 2024 season.
Bogle was named to the Associated Press All-America team following the season, earning honorable mention honors. He was the first Saluki linebacker to earn All-America status since Brandin Jordan in 2009.
