Carterville woman sentenced for threatening Durbin, Duckworth

BENTON, IL. (WJPF) – A Carterville woman has been sentenced to less than a year in federal prison for threatening Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.

Jura Perkins pleaded guilty to making over 200 threatening phone calls to the senator’s offices over a five month period last year.

Perkins will spend the next 8 month behind bars and must undergo substance abuse and mental health treatment as well as keep her distance from Durbin, Duckworth, their staff, and their offices.
