Carbondale Police investigating two shots fires incidents

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Carbondale Police are investigating a pair of shootings that happened Monday in the city’s Arbor District.

The first happened around 10:45 a.m. in the 600 Block West Cherry Street.

Police say shots were fired by a black male wearing a light colored hoodie and black pants. He was last seen running south on South Rawlings Street. The suspect was seen with another black male wearing a navy blue hoodie and dark pants. This person was last seen running east on West Cherry Street. No injuries or property damage were reported in this incident.

The second incident happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 500 block of South Poplar Street.

Police say someone in a blue vehicle shot at a passing grey Mustang. No injuries were reported in this incident..

Both investigations are active and ongoing. Police are not sure if the two incidents are connected.
