Carbondale Police investigating violent home invasion

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Carbondale Police are investigating a violent armed home invasion that sent one person to the hospital.

It happened Tuesday around 5:15 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of West Sycamore Street.

According to Carbondale Police, officers responded to the home after a report of shots fired. An investigation revealed that two masked men entered the home with guns in their hands and demanded money. During the robbery one victim was shot, another was beat. The suspects then ran from the home and have not been located.

The gunshot victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The first suspect is a white male 5’7”-6’0” tall, wearing a ball cap, frameless glasses, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood and black shoes with red or pink laces. The second suspect is a black male 6’0”-6’3” tall wearing a white and red bandana, a dark color sweatshirt with a hood, glasses with amber color lenses, a white ball cap and dark color shoes.
