ROCKWOOD, Ill. (WJPF) — Three people, including two 16-year-old girls, were hurt in a two car crash in Jackson County Sunday.
It happened at about 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Route 3 and Hog Hill Road in Rockwood.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Christopher McDonald of Columbia was travelling northbound on Route 3 in a BMW SUV when a Subaru, driven by a 16-year-old girl, turned south onto the highway from Hog Hill Road.
The two vehicles collided, both receiving extensive damage.
McDonald was taken from the scene by an ambulance to a local hospital. The 16-year-old Subaru driver as well as a 16-year-old passenger were flown from the scene to a St. Louis hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
