MARION, Ill. (WJPF) — A small group of protesters were in attendance at the Tuesday night meeting of the Marion City Council.
Protestors were there to voice their concerns about Marion High School girls track coach Sara Baker. Baker has been put on paid leave while the school district investigates allegations that she used derogatory, racially-charged language directed at a Black student.
The protestors were told the issue is a school district matter and the city government.
