GRAND TOWER, Ill. (WJPF) — The town of Grand Tower has been awarded a $30,000 grant to help improve their wastewater collection and treatment system.
The money is part of Governor JB Pritzker’s Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan.
Through the Unsewered Communities Planning Grant Program, communities will be able to address problems with the collection and treatment of wastewater. Information from the program may also be used to apply for a grant from the Unsewered Communities Construction Grant Program.
Over the next five years, the Unsewered Communities Construction Grant Program will make $100 million available through the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan for construction of wastewater collection and/or treatment facilities.
