The top 4 in this week’s Little Egypt Football Coaches’ Poll remained unchanged with Marion holding fast as the top dog but Benton hot on their trail. Cahokia and Nashville both remain at arm’s length as well.
Plenty of movement took place below the top 4 however with Johnston City moving in to the top 5 for the first time in the poll’s history. The Indians and Carterville took advantage of a slide by Murphysboro and Carbondale following blowout losses to move up.
Fairfield also moved up a spot with Carbondale slipping from 6 to 9.
Chester rejoined the ranks after a week out, fighting Centralia for the #10 spot for the fourth week in a row.
