The Illinois legislature has voted to rename a section of Illinois 148 near Christopher as the Kody M. Vanfossan Memorial Highway in honor of the firefighter who died while fighting a six-alarm commercial fire in his hometown.
State Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) introduced the legislation which was approved unanimously.
