16-year-old arrested on weapons charge

 

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A teenager is behind bars on a weapons charge after a traffic stop in Carbondale.

On Saturday, April 9, Carbondale Police say at about 2:30 a.m. officers pulled over a vehicle in the 300 block of East Walnut Street. A 16-year-old male was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and operation of a motor vehicle with no valid driver’s license.

Police say they later searched a home the teen is known to frequent and found evidence there.

The 16-year-old was taken to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
