MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A Marion man has been arrested on charges including attempted murder and domestic battery.
At about 2:10 Tuesday afternoon, Marion Police received a frantic 9-1-1 call. The female caller reported a man with a gun and then the line was disconnected.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Maplewood Street. When they arrived, they saw 44-year-old Joshua Taylor get into a vehicle and speed away, at times driving on the sidewalk. The vehicle was eventually pulled over in the 900 block of South Court Street. After a brief physical altercation Taylor was taken into custody.
According to Marion Police, Joshua Taylor held a gun to the head of a woman whom he had a romantic relationship with and pulled the trigger. The gun did not discharge and police reported no injuries.
Joshua Taylor was arrested on a long list of charges including attempted murder, domestic battery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and interfering with reporting domestic violence. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
