How long have you been working in radio?
I joined the River Radio team at the end of 2022, after graduating from SIUC so I’m fairly new to radio. Nonetheless, I am so excited to be working here with such amazing people.
Favorite part about the Southern Illinois area?
I was born and raised here, so I’ve seen my fair share of what this area has to offer, but I would have to say that the parks we have scattered around the area, like Garden of the Gods, and Ferne Clyffe, are my favorite parts about Southern Illinois. When you visit these locations, you are surrounded by the beauty of nature and it’s an amazing thing to experience.
What are your hobbies?
My main hobbies are listening to music, crafting, and thrifting. However, I think I could also add binge-watching to that list because I tend to do that quite often as well. I have developed the “just one more” mentality when it comes to shows, and then I’m several episodes in.
Favorite TV show and movie?
I have several comfort shows and movies that I rewatch quite often, but I would say Fleabag is my favorite show and Howl’s Moving Castle is my favorite movie.
Favorite artist(s)?
When it comes to music, my tastes are all over the place. I’ll listen to 90’s alt-rock one minute, and the next, I’m reliving my warped tour days. It changes constantly, especially when I discover new artists. However, my favorite artist will always be Green Day.
What is one weird thing about you?
One weird thing about me is that I like to write down my dreams, no matter how random they are. If you were to look at my Notes app, you’d see several entries written out like they were chapters from a book, but really, it’s just my dream.
