John A. Logan women’s basketball picks up 4-seed in District 24 women’s basketball tournament

The John A. Logan women’s basketball team officially are the 4-seed in this year’s District 24 Tournament.

The Lady Vols, led by first-year head coach Charlie Jones, finished the year 9-14 and 8-4 in the GRAC.  They started the season 1-8 in the first half of the year and 0-2 in conference.

Things turned around when the Lady Vols returned from the Holiday break, fighting the #24 Mineral Area Cardinals in a close game before the Cardinals pulled away for a 62-47 victory.  Since that loss, the Lady Vols have gone 8-5, including an 8-2 record in conference.  They enter postseason play on a 3-game win streak.
