Brower most recently coached at McCracken County in Kentucky for nine seasons before retiring in 2022.  He was the first boys basketball at McCracken County after the consolidation of Heath, Reidland, and Lone Oak High Schools. Prior to the consolidation, he was the head coach at Heath High School

Brower brings a career record of 313-128.  He takes over for Steven Dreher, who also came to Vienna from Kentucky in 2020.

While building the new McCracken program, Brower led the Mustangs to 6 District Championships, 4 Region One Championships, and two trips to the Elite 8 in 2014 and 2021. McCracken had two seasons with 30 wins. The program also experienced 51 straight Region One victories, which is the most in the history of Kentucky’s Region One basketball. While at Heath, Brower led the program to two “All A” Regional Championships and to the State Elite 8 and State Final 4.

“Coach Brower’s record speaks for itself,” said Vienna athletic director David Hill in a statement.  “Vienna High School, Vienna Eagles Basketball, and the entire Eagle Nation get the privilege of adding an experienced head coach and educator to our staff. This is an absolute win for Vienna. This shot in the arm is what we need to take our already successful program to the next level.

“Our community is fortunate to welcome a coach and teacher with the experience and stature of Mr. Brower,” said school superintendent Joshua Stafford. “Fielding the team of staff that provides great opportunities for students is one of the most important things that we do and the addition of Mr. Brower to Vienna only increases the success of students. We are also thankful for the successful leadership of Steve Dreher and his work that significantly advanced the Vienna program.”
