JOHNSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A Goreville man has been sentenced for First Degree Murder.
The investigation by ISP and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has led to a 50 year sentence for First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
71 year old Larry Cavitt was found guilty on February 23rd for the murder of 51 year old Joseph Geyman.
The sentence includes 25 years for First Degree Murder plus an additional 25 years due to the statutory firearm enhancement.
The sentence comes after the investigation into the death of Geyman which occurred in Tunnel Hill in August of 2021.
