Juvenile suspect in Carbondale shooting turns themselves into police

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – One juvenile suspect has been detained, while another is still wanted by police in connection to a shooting earlier this month in Carbondale.

According to Carbondale Police, the juvenile in custody turned themselves in on Sunday, May 19.

On the night of May 9, three people were hurt in a shooting in the 500 block of South Rawlings Street.  CPD later identified two juveniles as suspects and the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office issued warrants for their arrest. 

Due to both suspects being under the age of 18, their names are not being released by authorities.
