A Man faces Multiple Charges after Fleeing Police in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Man fleeing police leads to an arrest in Carbondale.

On June 8 police attempted a traffic stop in the 900 block of East Walnut Street for a lane violation. The driver fled and the officer did not pursue.

The officer eventually located the vehicle and driver parked at a business in the 1100 block of East Main. 

The driver was identified as 22 year old Tawan Stuckey of Marion. Officers also located an illegal amount of cannabis and a handgun along the route that Stuckey fled from the officer.

Stuckey has been charged with Fleeing to Elude Police, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed violence, Possession of 100-500 grams of Cannabis, and Improper Lane Usage.

Stuckey was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
