SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – There’s man impersonating a police officer in Saline County.
According to the real Saline County Sheriff’s Office, multiple people have received a call from a so-called “Sergeant Watson.” Saline County Sheriff Whipper Johnson says there is no Sergeant Watson on the departments payroll.
Police will never call you directly asking for donations or demanding you immediately pay a fine to avoid jail time.
