BTS’ RM to release new solo documentary ‘RM: Right People, Wrong Place’

BTS member RM will release his new solo documentary filmRM: Right People, Wrong Place,’ set to premiere in the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The premiere will be followed by a global theatrical release scheduled for later this year.

‘RM: Right People, Wrong Place’ chronicles the eight months leading up to the 29-year-old’s military enlistment after his first solo album Indigo was released in December 2022. Directed by Lee Seokjun (who also produced BTS bandmate j-hope’s music videos for “Arson” and “More)” the film follows the creation of RM’s second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person, and takes viewers through Seoul, Tokyo, and London where RM tapped into his creative vision.

A film synopsis reads: “Produced by HYBE, the film explores the candid journey of BTS’ leader RM as he navigates the complexities of being a global superstar and the person Kim Namjoon (RM’s given name). Primarily set in the locations where RM intensely worked on his album, director Lee Seokjun takes viewers on a journey through Seoul, Tokyo and London, offering an in-depth look at the creative process behind RM’s second solo album.”
