Kentucky man indicted for first-degree murder of SIU student

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Kentucky man has been indicted for first-degree murder of an SIU student.

22 year old Keavonte Nesby was indicted for the 2021 murder of Keeshanna Jackson.

Jackson died in August of 2021, at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was one of four people shot at a house party on Cherry Street in Carbondale.

The indictment happened October 3 for two counts of first degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
