Gambling machines likely targeted in liquor store break-in

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Williamson County are investigating a liquor store break-in.

The incident happened around 5:00 am Wednesday at Dr. Liquors on Route 37, north of Johnston City.

The burglar threw a brick through the store’s glass front door and then made his way to video gambling machines inside. Police think the machines were the target of the break-in. After an unsuccessful attempt to break into the machines, the burglar ran off empty handed.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
