CARBONDALE, Ill. – The preseason accolades continue to come in for Southern Illinois’ Jackie Lis, who was ranked as the nation’s second-best shortstop by D1Softball, as revealed on Wednesday morning.
Only Isa Torres of Florida State was ranked higher amongst shortstops.
Earlier in the week, Lis was ranked No. 51 in D1Softball’s Preseason D100 Player Rankings, the highest ranking of any player in the Missouri Valley Conference.
In 2024, Lis became the first-ever Saluki to be ranked in the D1Softball Preseason D100 Player Rankings, coming in as No. 92 as a sophomore.
Through two seasons, the junior has a career batting average of .350 with 117 hits, 33 home runs, 93 RBI, 107 runs scored, and a .722 slugging percentage.
Lis was also ranked No. 69 by Softball America.
