WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – An elderly man suffering from severe memory loss led police in Williamson County on a slow speed chase.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the man was spotted driving erratically on Route 37 near Stotlar Road. Police say he was swerving in and out of traffic and stopping in the middle of the road.
The man didn’t stop, however, when police tried to pull him over and led police on a slow speed chase with intermittent stops and starts.
Police eventually stopped the man just north of Johnston City. His family was called and no citations were issued.
