John A. Logan Softball pitcher Sami Scholtz earned NJCAA Pitcher of the Week honors on Wednesday for her Week 2 performance.
Scholtz logged 13 and one-third innings last week, striking out 22 batters and only gave up one earned run in that stretch.
This season, the sophomore has three appearances and two starts. In 14 innings, Scholtz has a 0.50 ERA and 0.79 WHIP.
Scholtz and the Vols return to action Friday at the JUCO Extravaganza in Oxford, Alabama. The Vols will face Wallace State and Northwest Florida State on Friday.
