Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Franklin County

A traffic stop has led to a drug arrest in Franklin County.

On Thursday March 6 around 11:15pm, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Valier. 

During the stop, the Deputy detected a strong odor of raw cannabis from within the vehicle.  He could also observe an item of drug paraphernalia in plain view.

The driver of the vehicle, 55 year old Brian Miner.

The search yielded several items of drug paraphernalia, multiple containers of suspected Cannabis, a plastic bag containing a white powder substance that field tested positive for the presence of Cocaine, and a handgun in the vehicle.  

Miner was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle with expired registration, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
