The 6’5 redshirt freshman guard transferred to SIU last spring after Scott Nagy was hired as head coach. Steffe had a slow start to the season but by the end of the year had broken the starting lineup and scored in double-digits in 8 of the final 9 games of the season for SIU.
Steffe averaged 6.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He shot 39.2% from the field and 37.7% from three. During that final 9-game stretch, Steffe shot 55% from beyond the arc and 53.7% from the field.
Steffe was originally a 4-star prospect out of high school and was at Texas Tech for one year before arriving at SIU.
