Cold Blooded Creatures of the Cache

Take this opportunity to become familiar with the reptiles of southern Illinois during a presentation on turtles, lizards, snakes. What are differences between a venomous and a non-venomous snake, is it a skink or a lizard, the difference between a male and female box turtle or painted turtles, why reptiles are important to an ecosystem, and much more. Experience an up-close and personal interaction with reptiles native to Illinois on Saturday, August 24, 1:00 p.m. at Cache River State Natural Area, Cache River Wetlands Center, Cypress, IL. The one-hour program will be followed by an optional walk to look for cold-blooded creatures along the Todd Fink- Heron Pond Trail. For information, call 618-657-2064.
