We Want the Funk! | Independent Film Screening
Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS, and WSIU with partner the Carbondale Public Library will host a screening of “WE WANT THE FUNK!” featuring a free dinner and community discussion. “WE WANT THE FUNK!” features some of the most iconic musical legends, including James Brown, George Clinton, Questlove, David Bowie, and Elton John. Alto Pass, Illinois – On Sunday, April 20th, 2025, at 6:30am, the Bald Knob Cross of Peace in Alto Pass will host the 89th Annual Easter Sunrise Service. This annual service remains one of the longest standing traditions in the region. The gates will open at 5:00am. Handicap parking and on-site cart shuttles will be available. Our Worship Leaders for the event are Chris Parton, joined by a regional worship band. Keynote speaker to be announced.

The South District Elks Lodges in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation will sponsor a Free children’s orthopedic assessment clinic on Friday April 25, 2025. The clinic is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and is by appointment only.
